Launch Announcement: A Catholic Gospel Journey

I am pleased to announce the publication of my first book, A Catholic Gospel Journey – Through the Lens of Alcohol Recovery, released through the Hadspen Foundation.

This work is built on 53 Gospel reflections, each one exploring how scripture can be applied as tactical recovery logic. The book begins with a simple truth: alcoholism is a spiritual malady, and the fix is spiritual.

After 35 years of alcoholism, my return to the Catholic faith became the ignition point for healing. What started in Lectio Divina scripture study evolved into a structured exploration of how the Old and New Testaments offer not only moral lessons, but practical strategies for recovery.

A Catholic Gospel Journey is not a theological text. It is written with the clarity of a business mind and the honesty of lived experience. The reflections are anchored in scripture from the World English Bible, but the commentary is delivered in a direct, disciplined style: frameworks, doctrine, and clarity under pressure.

This title marks the beginning of a publishing journey. Future works will extend across both spiritual and business genres, designed to resonate beyond the page — anchoring recovery, sharpening decision‑making, and preserving heritage as living doctrine.

The release of A Catholic Gospel Journey was supported by a scholarship from the St Vincent Pallotti Trustees, affirming the value of combining faith, clarity, and lived recovery in works that strengthen lay ministry and Catholic outreach.

A Catholic Gospel Journey is now available on Amazon.

About Jason Bresnehan

Jason is a writer and recovery advocate whose work explores the intersection of Catholic faith and the lived experience of addiction. His books and essays weave scripture with the rhythms of everyday life, showing how grace can surface in the most ordinary encounters.

Through A Catholic Gospel Journey – Through the Lens of Alcohol Recovery and related projects, Jason offers reflections that connect the Sunday readings to the struggles and victories of recovery. His approach is rooted in clarity, rhythm, and respect for tradition, while remaining accessible to those navigating the challenges of addiction and renewal.

Founder of the Hadspen Foundation, Jason is committed to building frameworks for spiritual recovery that are both repeatable and personal. His writing is guided by discernment, narrative cadence, and the belief that doctrine should support—not overshadow—the human story.
